Interior Designers no longer specialize in only fringes, draperies and tassels. The idea of hiring an Interior Designer is no longer subject to Park Avenue residences and ultra luxury Hampton homes. Here at L&Z Design we bring affordable design services to the common professional. Our clients are both single and married, young professionals with limited time and knowledge to make their new home comfortable and stylized. We look at the project as a whole and work with the client to create a budget which will provide them with their needs but not take them beyond their means. It's a simple process:
Client X's Situation:
Single Bachelor just bought his first apartment in one of NYC's luxury highrises. His previous furnishings are dated and tarnished and he'd like to upgrade to a more modern look. He just paid heavy closing costs and is not looking to drop a fortune on new pieces but he acknowledges a need for the essentials.
L&Z Design's Solution:
We sit down with the client and discuss a realistic budget for his project. Budget's can range from $10,000 upward and no budget shoud be dismissed without being thouroghly discussed. Once a budget is established we put together a detailed list of what exactly is needed. Things to consider - Painting, lighting, window treatments, furnitue, artwork, and accessories. We then sort through his current furniture and artwork, pulling out what we can re-use and what needs to be disposed of. At this point L&Z will put together a comprehensive design plan and detailed budget. We then present the ideas to the client and upon his permission, we start to implement the plan. L&Z Design handles all ordering and delivery scheduling, we handle supervision of contractors, painters, and electricians. In the end, the client comes home to finished product which meets their design standards as well as their monetary ones.
Design Fee:
L&Z Design handles projects of this type on a flat fee basis. Our fee is based on the clients agreed upon budget. By approaching the project in this fashion the client knows exactly what their overall costs are going to be. We charge no additional design fees or hrly rates unless otherwise clarified from the start of the job. Our designer discounts are passed directly on the client when applicable. We are a results oriented firm and our goal is to not only create an innovative personal design, but to make the transition as easy as possible for the home owner.
